Our well equipped and comfortably furnished apartment Porthstinian, is the most perfect home from home base from which to discover all that Pembrokeshire has on offer.

Porthstinian is named after the Welsh name for the harbour which houses the local lifeboat, St Justinians Harbour in English. St Justinian was a monk and holy man born in Brittany in the 6th Century. He lived on Ramsey Island and was a friend of St David our patron saint, legend has it he chopped up the wooden bridge to the island to lead a reclusive life and that all that remains are the rock foundations of the bridge, the treacherous Bitches Rocks in the sound that separates the island from the mainland. This sound is a dangerous stretch of water, full of currents formed from the huge tidal flow of water squeezing through its small space as the tides go in and out. Many a ship has been lost in these waters so beware, it is only for the very experienced who know these local waters and operate guided boat trips. The coastal walk out to St Justinians is a great day out’s walk or a seasonal coastal shuttle bus ride away. It is possible to park here out of season but as there are limited places and very small winding lanes driving is not encouraged in the busy summer months.

You can operate your gas central heating to suit your needs, allowing for a really cosy warm apartment especially in colder winter months. A separate well equipped kitchen with farmhouse style seating for all, allows you to enjoy family meals and takeaways from the many venues on your doorstep. Its high street location is so convenient for shops and pubs and bus stops just round the corner, all just minutes away. Our comfortable mattresses and double glazing will assist a good night’s sleep.

Your Apartment

First Floor:

Access to your first floor apartment is up one flight of stairs from the ground level and our tranquil paved courtyard which has established shrubs and flowerbeds. You will have access to communal patio tables and chairs which are available to all of our guests.

Enter into the hallway from a first floor level balustrade overlooking the centrally located courtyard.

No dogs are permitted in this apartment which has carpets throughout apart from the exception of the kitchen and the bathroom which are tiled.

Turn left off the hall for the separate kitchen/diner – electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, dining table to seat 4.

Straight ahead down the hall for the Lounge – 1 sofa, 3 arm chairs, Smart TV, DVD player, CD/radio player.

Turn right in the hallway for the staircase to the second floor.

Second Floor:

Double bedroom (courtyard side)– double bed, built in wardrobe and drawer units, dressing table, velux windows, hairdryer

Twin bedroom – twin beds, built in wardrobe and drawer units,

Bathroom – bath with overhead shower, WC, washbasin

Double glazed and quiet even though its overlooking the highstreet which is quiet at night

Parking

Porthstinian has its own parking bay in our carpark to the rear of the property

Local Facilities

Shops, Pubs and Restaurants on your doorstep

Caerfai beach is a 20minute walk from our apartments or a 5 minute drive

Whitesands beach is a 10 minute drive

Porthstinian is a 10 minute drive from our apartment however there is limited parking so in busy months we advise you to use the coastal shuttle bus or walking/cycle routes.
