Our well equipped and comfortably furnished apartment Porthclais, is the most perfect home from home base from which to discover all that Pembrokeshire has on offer.

Named after St Davids’ picturesque local Harbour Porthclais, on the south-western tip of the St David’s Peninsula, which is owned by The National Trust. Once a trading port alive with industry, Porthclais is steeped in history and now a popular spot for kayakers, boat owners and families crabbing. Built to serve the city of St David’s in the 12th Century, it became a bustling port, with ships importing and exporting timber, grain, limestone and coal. There are derelict lime kilns and what remains of the gas works is the former pump room, which hosts a seasonal refreshments kiosk. There is even mention of Porthclais in the medieval book the Mabinogion where leadged tells a story of a mythological wild boar which was hunted called the ‘Twrch Trwyth’.

You can operate your gas central heating to suit your needs, allowing for a really cosy warm apartment especially in colder winter monthsA separate well equipped kitchen with farmhouse style seating for all, allows you to enjoy family meals and takeaways from the many venues on your doorstep. Its high street location is so convenient for shops and pubs and bus stops just round the corner, all just minutes away. Our comfortable mattresses and double glazing will assist a good night’s sleep.

Your Apartment

First Floor:

Access to your first floor apartment is up one flight of stairs from the ground level and our tranquil paved courtyard which has established shrubs and flowerbeds. You will have access to communal patio tables and chairs which are available to all of our guests.

Enter into the hallway from a first floor level balustrade overlooking the centrally located courtyard.

As this is a dog friendly apartment it has no carpets on the first floor throughout and a solid floor for thorough cleaning.

Turn left off the hall for the kitchen/diner – electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer. dining Table to seat 4

Straight ahead down the hall for the Lounge – 1 sofa, 2 arm chairs, smart TV, DVD player, CD/radio player

Turn right in hallway for the carpeted staircase to the second floor

Second Floor:

Double bedroom (courtyard side) – double bed, built in wardrobe and drawer units, dressing table, velux windows, hairdryer

Twin bedroom – twin beds, built in wardrobe and drawer units,

Bathroom – with bath, shower, WC, washbasin

Double glazed and quiet even though some rooms overlook the highstreet which is quiet at night

Parking

Porthclais has its own parking bay in our carpark to the rear of the property

Local Facilities

Shops, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep

Caerfai beach is a 20minute walk from our apartments or a 5 minute drive

Whitesands beach is a 10 minute drive

Portlclais is an hour or two’s walk depending whether you opt for the coastal or inland footpaths and lanes. There is pay and display parking available here.
